Staff Library and Knowledge Service

We offer a library and knowledge service to all Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust staff across all sites and within the community, students on placement, and volunteers. We also have a service level agreement to provide a service to NHS Wakefield Clinical Commissioning Group.

The physical library and knowledge service is in Trust Headquarters on the Pinderfields site. Online resources can be accessed anywhere with internet access.

  • 1 Providing a 24/7 library space for work and learning with supportive, skilful and knowledgeable staff.
  • 2 Offering access to a wide range of high quality resources both online and in print.
  • 3 Affording access to over 600 peer reviewed journal titles online.
  • 4 Providing an efficient document delivery and inter-library lending service, free to the end-user.
  • 5 Offering a comprehensive and expert literature searching service and delivering advanced information skills training
  • 6 Keeping all our stakeholders up-to-date with current awareness bulletins.

Quality standards

  • 1 We will aim to respond to all general enquiries within 24hrs
  • 2 We aim to respond to emails and social media messages within 48 hours.
  • 3 We aim to complete literature searches within 5 working days.
  • 4 We aim to supply inter-library loans and requested articles within 3-5 working days.

During the last 12 months, the knowledge service has provided our staff with vast amounts of help, evidence and information including:

135 literature searches performed
390 inter-library loans supplied to customers
